A fine English seaweed marquetry long case clock by Daniel Robinson, London, early 18th century. Eight-day time and strike brass movement, with calendar.
Daniel Robinson is recorded in "Watchmaker and Clockmakers of the World" by G.H. Baillie as being apprenticed in 1681 and working until circa 1710. A very similar seaweed marquetry longcase clock is illustrated in "The Longcase Clock" by Daniel Robinson, page 110, figure 5/33, made circa 1700-1710.

Very good overall condition with minor chips and cracks. Cracked glass on sides of hood. (General note: All clock movements have been examined and any faults noticed have been described.
